Pavel Nedved reacted to Juventus’ Europa League draw against FC Nantes and the importance of young talents to Massimiliano Allegri and the team.
The Bianconeri suffered relegation to the Europa League after finishing third in their Champions League group, being nine points behind Benfica and Paris Saint-Germain. Allegri’s side will face off against Nantes for a spot in the Round of 16 of the competition, which’ll take place in February next year.
Speaking to Sky Sports Italia after the draw, Nedved first reacted to Juventus’ draw against Nantes.
“Until the Round of 16, we will play in 2023 and there will be time to prepare well, it will serve both us and them.”
He commented on Juventus’ growth following their sluggish start to the season.
“We coped well in the last game where we didn’t concede a goal, there are too many injured players but those who have taken the pitch recently have done very well.”
The Juventus vice president spoke about the impact of the youngsters in the squad and the injury crisis.
“Absolutely yes, this forcing in the end has been positive because the young players have had important minutes.
“We found players who will certainly be part of this Juventus. The return of established players will allow us to do much better, it could be not a cursed but a blessed break.”
He touched on the club’s investments in the youth system.
“From Cherubini on down everyone has been good at making these investments. The jump to the first team is then not so long also thanks to the second team, which is very important.”
Finally, Nedved discussed the growth of winger Filip Kostic.
“We knew we could get an important player, he had difficulties at the beginning, but now he is showing what he is worth in an ideal role for him, having said that the Italian league is also more complicated from a tactical point of view.”
Juventus’ final two matches before the World Cup break are against Hellas Verona on November 10 and Lazio on November 13.
We should be nantes easily, especially the way were playing football now, got to give credit to allegri when he gets it right, lets hope it continues every game
barca v man u , sevilla v psg, slazburg v roma = OUCH, really hard games
Mohammed, have you seen Sevilla? Literally hovering above relegation in la liga
lord cherubini, sevilla always go for the uefa cup – brings them extra 2 grs – league form and cup form are different things
sorry meant to be sevilla v psv, not psg 🙂
Lol that’s not a hard game for Roma.if they can’t beat Salzburg thet don’t belong in EL but in conference league. WAY tougher games ahead. Roma got a baby shark.
@stefan – your mad for saying that, they have many top players, nkunku is a beast, gvaordial,simakan,szoboszlai=3 younsgeters already linked to the top clubs,
then they have gulasci-very underrated hugarian gk-will fellow countryman Orban=CB, schlager, laimer, olmo=looks really good, werner and andre silva- may have not been good enough for the top club level= but played great for lepzig= who are a better club than roma.
Zaniola is the only threat you have, and thats cancelled out with smalling at the back and your dodgy GK
@mohammed
They’re playing Salzburg not Leipzig…..
Here we go now belittling Nantes. It is those types of bush leaguers that always gets one over the slightly bigger bush leaguers. Better for PhD Max to go out next round. Do not forget, there is Arsenal, Barca and Utd. They are bigger clubs, even the last one but will prevail over the 1996 hopefuls.
Mohamed, salzburg, not leipzig bro
LGBTQA, your last prediction worked out well, didn’t it?
Fatecisognare I think you mispelled Facscist but cant expect better from bigots
Well done gump. I see you are practising and memorising your woke curricular. Now innit time for quinoa, oat milk and a kale smoothie?
Mohamed is real dumb, not even understand what players are playing in salzburg, you not talk about football then 🙂
@mohammed. Lol. Both are owned by Red Bull, but are from different league and clearly they are different clubs
