Evan Ndicka has made a full return to first team training with Roma, just shy of two weeks after his worrying collapse on the pitch of the Bluenergy Stadium against Udinese.
According to reports from Calciomercato.com, the Ivory Coast international trained as normal with the other available members of the Giallorossi squad on Friday afternoon.
He could still be included in the Roma squad to play against Napoli at the Stadio Maradona in Serie A on Sunday evening, although official line-ups will not be confirmed until the pre-match build-up.
Ndicka was given the all-clear to resume training earlier this week. The club announced that the recent AFCON winner was given a clean bill of health following a series of pulmonary and cardiovascular tests at the Villa Stuart facility in the Italian capital.
Initial tests confirmed that the 24-year-old had not suffered a heart attack or cardiac arrest.
Background on Ndicka illness
Ndicka was at the centre of attention when he collapsed to the floor during Roma’s Serie A match against Udinese on April 14.
He was rushed off on a stretcher and was seen to by medical staff in the stadium before being taken to hospital.
Play was formally suspended in the 72nd minute between Udinese and Roma, and the final 18 minutes plus stoppages were eventually played out on Thursday evening. Bryan Cristante popped up with a 95th minute winner to snatch the three points for the Giallorossi, 11 days after the match had originally kicked off.
