Evan Ndicka could formalise his free transfer to Roma by the end of the month after a recent positive meeting between his agents and the club, reports detail.

The 23-year-old French defender’s contract expires with Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of this season and his deal will not be renewed, making him available on a free transfer in the summer.

Ndicka had hoped for Barcelona to make a move but their lack of effort has pushed him to allow his agents to work on a deal with Roma. A draft agreement has already been drawn up, a four-year deal worth around €2m net per season plus add-ons.

Calciomercato.com details how Ndicka’s agents were in Trigoria a few days ago, where they chatted and embraced Roma coach Jose Mourinho. It was a positive meeting and another sign that the Frenchman would be heading to the Italian capital at the end of the season.

Some rumours suggest that he’s already carried out some initial medical tests in Austria, in a clinic linked to the Friedkins, but this has not been confirmed.
