Ciro Immobile has suffered a muscle injury and has been ruled out of tonight’s Nations League match with England.
The Lazio striker was supposed to start in the Azzurri’s trident tonight but was left out of the squad list so he will not be available against the Three Lions.
According to Gazzetta, the veteran striker has suffered a muscle injury that will force him to the sidelines, same as Sandro Tonali, Marco Verratti, Matteo Politano and Davide Calabria.
The pink paper reports that Immobile won’t return to his club and his physical conditions will be assessed again in the coming days, hoping that he will be available to recover for the match against Hungary on Monday.
Immobile has started the season on a high note with Lazio, having scored five goals in seven Serie A games.
He’s been unable to replicate his form with the Azzurri having only netted 15 goals in 55 appearances with his national team.
Gianluca Scamacca or Giacomo Raspadori could replace Immobile tonight, with the Napoli striker acting as a false 9.
Squadra azzura’s ”fans” wanted Scamacca, right? There you go, have fun. Let’s hope Ciro returns to Lazio asap. We need him rested.
I can get over how pathetic our choice of strikers are these days.
It’s not hard to create strikers literally every country does it. Wtf is going on
By the sounds of it, we barely have a squad for tonight!
What going on Gino!!
Have you look at a serie a game lately. How many Italians play???
We never let our youth play !! Clubs only buy these average non Italians
We have a very serious problem in Italy football
Under 21 lost to England
Under 18 lost to Estonia
Italy is becoming a mediocre football nation.
The way Italian coaches treating Italian players is becoming very humiliating
His absence makes no difference, he really does not fit with this team
Foreign players cannot be blamed really. There are at least as many foreign players in the premier league, yet England reached a first final in 50 odd years!
LOL…..exactly Peter…….the country with the most soccer money and where the game was invented, 1st final in 50 years, maybe Tony is right, no?
