The former Inter captain has moved on a permanent transfer to the French capital, after spending 2019-20 on loan in Paris.

Nara, the wife and representative of the player, has claimed the Argentine goalscorer sells himself after completing the €57m move to Ligue 1.

“We had already given our word to PSG and the club knew that we wanted to stay,” she told the argentine outlet Gente.

“The merit of the PSG was to complete the operation in the middle of a pandemic.

“Every time I sat down to negotiate with managers, I did it know what Mauro wanted and how he would have liked it, which clubs he likes and which he doesn’t like.

“I know his dreams and I know where he wants to go. There are things I don’t even ask, because I know very well what his answers will be.

“We had a good game: he does his part and I do mine. It’s very easy to be the manager of a player like Mauro. I’m not saying he doesn’t need it, because he should be aware of technical problems, taxes, laws.

“But he already sells himself. It’s easy to accompany the career of such a player.”

The 26-year-old scored 20 goals in 31 games across all competitions for Les Parisiens in 2019-20.
