Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti has been named Serie A Coach Of the Month for January.
The Partenopei lost their only Serie A match against Inter in the first game of the year but continued their impressive run with a 5-1 win over Juventus and earning 12 points in 15 games last month.
“The Coach Of The Month award for January has been assigned to Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti,” Lega Serie A said in an official statement.
“The trophy will be presented during the pre-match of Napoli vs Cremonese, scheduled for Saturday 12th February 2023 at 8.45pm at the “Diego Armando Maradona” stadium in Naples.
“The award was assigned by a jury of Directors of sports media who evaluated each coach on the basis of technical and sporting criteria and the quality of play of their teams, as well as their behaviour/fair play during matches.”
This is the second time Spalletti wins the Coach Of The Month Award this season. “In addition to the beautiful game and tactical discipline, the Tuscan coach has been able to transmit to his players a winning mentality that has led Napoli to obtain 12 points out of the 15 available in January, with 11 goals scored and only 3 conceded, beating prestigious opponents such as Juventus and Roma,” explained Lega Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo.
“If Napoli is a compact and focused group in every component, the merit, in tandem with the club, is certainly the work of Luciano Spalletti and his staff.”
