Leo Ostigard has completed his medicals with Stade Rennais and is now ready to finalise his transfer from Napoli.

The Partenopei have started a new project under coach Antonio Conte and have already worked hard to bolster their backline, investing in Rafa Marin and Alessandro Buongiorno, setting up a new defence in the Campania capital.

Ostigard featured fairly regularly for Napoli last term, seeing 1947 minutes of action across 32 appearances under three different coaches. He has struggled to settle at the club since his arrival from Brighton back in July 2022.

Ostigard ready to join Rennes

Gianluca Di Marzio details how Ostigard underwent his medicals with Stade Rennais on Monday and is now ready to complete his transfer from Napoli, ready to kickstart a new adventure in Ligue 1. He will leave in a deal worth around €7m, slightly more than was paid two years ago to Brighton.

During his two years in the Campania capital, the Norwegian centre back scored three goals across 43 appearances and was part of the Scudetto winning squad under Luciano Spalletti.
