Napoli working to close out loan deal for Chelsea’s Kepa

Napoli are reportedly pushing to close out a loan deal for Chelsea shot stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga and things are looking positive.

The Partenopei are looking for a new goalkeeper following the departure of David Ospina earlier this month. They’ve been in talks recently with the Blues to explore a deal for Kepa, and now things are moving forward.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli and Chelsea have agreed a loan deal for Kepa that would see the Premier League side pay 75% of his salary, leaving the other 25% to the Campania side.

The two parties are now in talks to try and agree the add-ons of the operation, with Chelsea wanting two that total €1.5m. The intermediaries are at work to try and lower these figures, and both parties are optimistic of reaching a deal.

Napoli are also keeping a close eye on current shot stopper Alex Meret; the two parties had agreed to a five-year contract extension but the Italian goalkeeper is waiting to see what happens before he puts pen to paper, not wanting to be a backup option.
