Giovanni Di Lorenzo has been a leading figure for Napoli in their incredible start to the season and will be rewarded with a new contract.

The 29-year-old Italian right back, who became club captain following the departures of Lorenzo Insigne and Kalidou Koulibaly in the summer, has featured in every game under Luciano Spalletti this season, playing 1869 minutes of action across 21 appearances.

In that time, Di Lorenzo has proven his leadership skills on the pitch and has directly contributed to four goals, being a reference point in the squad.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Napoli are currently working on tying down a number of their stars to new contracts and soon efforts will begin to agree a new deal with Di Lorenzo, rewarding him for his importance to the club.

Di Lorenzo joined the Partenopei from Empoli in July 2019 in a deal worth around €8m.
