Napoli want Veiga regardless of Zielinski decision

Even if Piotr Zielinski rejects Al-Ahli and negotiates a new contract at Napoli, the Partenopei are still eager to buy Gabri Veiga from Celta Vigo.

The situation was transformed this afternoon with reports that Zielinski had decided against the huge transfer to Saudi Arabia, largely because his wife put a block to the move.

She wants to remain in Italy and Sportitalia also confirm Zielinski is now back in advanced negotiations to renew his contract, which is due to expire at the end of this season.

However, Calciomercato.it assure that even if Zielinski remains, Napoli are still determined to bring in Gabri Veiga from Celta Vigo.

Offers of circa €33m including bonuses have not been successful so far, as he has a release clause in his contract set at €40m, but the Partenopei are confident they can get the deal done soon.

Meanwhile, Napoli are cutting down their squad ahead of the season kicking off next weekend.

Michael Folorunsho is on the verge of a paid loan switch to Hellas Verona after his experience at Bari last term, claim Sportitalia.

It is also official that Napoli have loaned striker Antonio Cioffi to Ancona.
