Napoli have begun to think about their movements in the summer transfer window, and after Piotr Zielinski’s move to Inter was all but confirmed on Monday, the Partenopei would like one of two midfielders already playing in Serie A to replace him according to recent reports.

The first choice remains Lazar Samardzic according to recent updates from Calciomercato.com.

Napoli had made serious attempts to bring Samardzic to the Stadio Maradona towards the end of the January transfer window, but were unable to get a deal with Udinese over the line.

The 21-year-old midfielder is also reportedly in talks with Juventus over a potential move in the summer, and his father, who is also one of his representatives, was in attendance at the Allianz Stadium for Udinese’s 1-0 win over the Old Lady on Monday night.

If Napoli are unable to land Samardzic, the second choice is reportedly Scotland international and Bologna midfielder Lewis Ferguson.

It would take a minimum of €18m-€20m in order to sign Ferguson permanently from Bologna, as per Calciomercato’s latest updates.

Napoli could also return to the Dall’Ara to negotiate with Bologna for defender Sam Beukema, who is also admired by the recruitment team in Naples according to Tuesday’s report.
