Can the Partenopei stay at the top of Serie A? These Napoli vs. Sassuolo predictions suggest that the home side will be the happier on Saturday. But Sassuolo are no pushovers and should put up a fight at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Napoli vs. Sassuolo odds

1 – Napoli to win to nil – 11/8

2 – Over 2.5 goals scored – 4/9

3 – Victor Osimhen to score first – 12/5

4 – Both teams not to score – 1/1

5 – Napoli to win 3-0 – 8/1

It has been Khvicha ‘Kvaradona’ Kvaratskhelia that has been receiving all the plaudits this season at Napoli, after beginning his Serie A career in explosive form. But it was Victor Osimhen that popped up to score the late winner away at Roma on Sunday.

The Nigerian striker has endured an injury and illness-ravaged few seasons but looks to be back at his best now and is capitalising on Napoli’s fine form to score a few goals this year. Sassuolo look to be an easier challenge than Roma, so he could be the one to open the scoring on Saturday.

Napoli should have no real problems taking another three points as they march on to what would be a first Scudetto for over 30 years. If they start well it will take a huge effort for the Neroverdi to come back into the match at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

There will be some belief in the Sassuolo squad though. This season has been up and down, as usual, but the goals of Italy international Davide Frattesi have kept the side comfortably in mid-table.

Alessio Dionisi will need to have come up with a good game plan for the trip to Naples though. He had a very public slanging match with Frattesi during the game against Verona but will hope that his message is getting through to his players.

Sassuolo could probably do with picking up a few more points before the Serie A season breaks for the World Cup in Qatar. There seems to be no real danger that the Neroverdi will get sucked into any relegation scrap at any point. But they will do very well to come away from this weekend’s fixture with anything.

Napoli team news

Luciano Spalletti will be mindful of the important Champions League fixture in the week when he is planning his starting eleven for Saturday. André-Frank Zambo Anguissa will be pushing for a recall after recovering from injury but Stanislav Lobotka should retain his place in the midfield. Matteo Politano might also come back in for Hirving Lozano.

Sassuolo team news

Alessio Dionisi will probably not have Domenico Berardi available again this weekend after he was rushed back a bit too soon a few games ago. But Gian Marco Ferrari can return after serving a suspension. Rising star Luca D’Andrea will be hoping for a good performance against his hometown club.
