A large banner was hung by Napoli fans outside the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, warning the players that they’re not immune from criticism.

The Partenopei have been in a state of flux this season following the changes over the summer, which saw coach Luciano Spalletti and sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli leave. In addition, star centre back Kim Min-Jae was sold to Bayern Munich.

Rudi Garcia, Spalletti’s successor, failed to recapture the magic with Napoli in the first few months of this season and was dismissed by Aurelio De Laurentiis last week, being replaced by Walter Mazzarri. The team currently sit fourth in the Serie A table, 10 points behind league leaders Inter.

As reported by ANSA, a large banner hung by the Napoli ultras was hung outside their stadium on Tuesday night, which reads: “It was the coach who paid but let it be clear to every player. Winning the Scudetto does not give you impunity.”

Napoli’s first game back after the international break is against Atalanta on November 25, before they travel to Spain to face Real Madrid in the Champions League four days later.
