Napoli are reportedly in pole position to land Frosinone defensive midfielder Marco Brescianini this summer after an encouraging meeting between sporting director Giovanni Manna and the player’s agent Beppe Riso on Wednesday.

According to information from TMW, the Partenopei director and the player’s agent sat down for talks on Wednesday afternoon, which went down positively.

Manna and Riso have already spoken plenty of times this summer, as Riso also represents recent Napoli addition Alessandro Buongiorno.

In fact, Riso currently represents some of the biggest names in Italian football, including Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali, Inter’s Davide Frattesi and Roma trio Gianluca Mancini, Brian Cristante and Tommaso Baldanzi.

Napoli talks with Riso for Brescianini

Brescianini, who scored four goals during his maiden Serie A campaign last term despite ultimately suffering relegation with Frosinone, is not short of options this summer. Atalanta have also reportedly expressed an interest, as have Fiorentina.

Milan will also be keeping a key eye on developments, as they possess a 50% sell-on clause on Brescianini, dating back to his permanent move to Frosinone last summer.

If Bresicanini were to switch to Napoli, he would become the club’s third defensive addition of the summer, following the arrivals of the aforementioned Buongiorno and ex-Real Madrid man Rafa Marin.
