Napoli have turned their attention in the direction of VfB Stuttgart and former Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos in their bid to replace Kim Min-jae, who officially joined Bayern Munich on Sunday evening according to reports from Calciomercato.

The 25-year-old centre back has spent the last three seasons with Stuttgart in the Bundesliga, although only joined on a permanent basis from Arsenal at the beginning of the 2022-23 campaign.

He had also spent the first six months of 2020 on loan in the 2. Bundesliga with Nurnberg.

Whilst opportunities in the first team were few and far between at Arsenal, Mavropanos has become a mainstay of the Stuttgart defence, making 28 starts from a possible 34 last season.

With a valuation of around €10m, Marvopanos would be a considerably less costly option than some of the other names Napoli have been linked with recently, particularly Max Kilman from Wolves and Real Sociedad’s Robin Le Normand, both of whom would likely cost upwards of €40m.

Calciomercato reports that Juventus are also keeping an eye on the Greek international  given the expected departures of Leonardo Bonucci and Alex Sandro in the coming weeks.
