According to Tuttosport, Torino, Napoli, Tottenham and Sevilla are among the clubs in talks to sign 24-year-old centre-back Sebastián Cáceres from América.
Cáceres’ contract with the Mexican club expires in December 2024 and according to Tuttosport, the defender is not interested in signing a longer deal. Therefore, América will listen to offers in the January transfer window, hoping to get at least €10m from his sale.
Tuttosport claims Torino have already made an opening offer in the region of €7m. The Granata need a new centre-back after their star Perr Schuurs suffered an ACL injury in October.
Torino are not the only club interested in Cáceres as, according to the Turin-based paper, Sevilla, Tottenham and Napoli are also in talks with the player’s agents.
According to the report, the 24-year-old defender had been offered to several Serie A clubs five years ago by intermediary Vincenzo d’Ippolito.
However, his €3m value was already quite high for a 19-year-old. Fiorentina, Napoli and SPAL were among the most interested clubs and it’s no coincidence that current Torino director Davide Vagnati was working for SPAL then.
