Napoli are set to challenge Juventus in the January transfer window for the signing of highly-rated 21-year-old Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Georgiy Sudakov according to recent reports.

According to information from Relevo reporter Matteo Moretto and transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, both Juventus and Napoli have held talks with Shakhtar for Sudakov in recent weeks.

Juventus’ interest is longstanding, as they have been monitoring the Ukraine international’s progress for several months already.

Napoli, meanwhile, are ready to invest cash into a new midfield signing, having sold Eljif Elmas to Napoli for a reported fee of €25m at the end of December, with the Macedonian set to officially join his new teammates on January 2.

Recent reports indicate that Shakhtar value Sudakov in the region of €35m. He is currently under contract until the summer of 2028.

Sudakov has found the net on three occasions this term, twice domestically and once in the Champions League. He has only missed five games so far in 2023-24, four at the beginning of the season through appendicitis, and once in the league through suspension.
