Napoli’s Scudetto challenge this season, as well as their eye-catching style of play, has seen Sarri linked with English Premier League side Chelsea of late.

According to Corriere del Mezzogiorno, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is desperate to secure Sarri’s services for the long term and remove any threat of him being tempted elsewhere.

The Italian daily claims the Partenopei patron is hopeful that improvements made in certain areas of the club – such as in the construction of pitches, swimming pools and other facilities – will convince Sarri to stay.

That being said, it is not believed that Sarri will be offered a new contract before the end of the season.
