The Coach himself said this week that his renewal is “a false problem”, and Il Mattino is reporting that he and De Laurentiis will meet this week.

The President wants to extend Sarri’s contract until 2022, while also doubling his salary to around €3m per season.

At the same time, the club would remove the release clause in Sarri’s contract.

De Laurentiis is heading to the United States at the weekend, so a face-to-face meeting, or at the very least a phone call, is expected this week.
