Napoli are reportedly set to offer captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo a contract extension with improved terms after leading the Partenopei to an unforgettable season on the pitch.

The influential right-back has featured in all 31 of his side’s Serie A games so far this season and looks set to become the first Napoli captain to lift the Coppa Campioni d’Italia since Diego Maradona 33 years ago.

According to Calciomercato, Napoli are prepared to reward Di Lorenzo with an improved contract offer, which would come with a significant increase in wages in order to “reaffirm his importance to the team on and off the pitch.”

Di Lorenzo already has a deal which runs until the summer of 2026, which means that there is plenty of time to negotiate a renewal.

Napoli are intending to extend the deal by another year, running until 2027, at which point Di Lorenzo would be 34 years of age.
