Napoli want to strengthen their defence in the summer and they’ve set their sights on Southampton duo Jan Bednarek and Mohammed Salisu.

Luciano Spalletti’s side need to pick up a couple of reinforcements for their backline at the end of this season, when Axel Tuanzebe will return to Aston Villa and Juan Jesus’ contract expires with the club, although they may extend the deal of the latter.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Napoli are closely following Southampton pair Bednarek and Salisu ahead of the summer, preparing for a possible double deal at the end of this season.

The former is liked for a number of reasons, being 1.90 metres tall but still being comfortable with the ball at his feet. He has made 37 appearances for the Polish national team and 142 with the Saints, meaning he’s an experienced and reliable option.

Salisu is also an exciting target for the Partenopei; a 23-year-old centre back from Ghana, he can also play as a left back in a back-four, making him a tactically flexible idea.
