Napoli are reportedly ready to activate a clause in the Dries Mertens contract extending the deal to June 2023.
There had been suggestions in Belgium over the last few days that Mertens could be looking to the exit after eight years at the club.
However, Tuttosport claim that Napoli will activate the option in his contract that extends it for another year.
That would take it from the current June 2022 expiry to the summer of 2023 instead.

Mertens joined Napoli in 2013 from PSV Eindhoven and went on to become the club’s all-time top scorer.
He turns 34 next month, but despite injury problems, he still contributed nine goals and eight assists in 30 competitive games this season.
