Cesare Prandelli says that Napoli are ‘the team of the moment’ and praises the ‘democratic and hard’ Maurizio Sarri.

The Partenopei beat Palermo 2-0 last night to record their seventh win in a row in all competitions and are currently in second place in Serie A.

“Napoli are undoubtedly the team of the moment,” Prandelli said in his Calciomercato.com column.

“The fifth consecutive win in the league is giving Sarri’s team great scope, and they’re rightly trying to keep as low a profile as possible.

“You can’t deny that over the weeks their awareness of their own strength is growing as well as the Coach’s knowledge of his tactical ideas.

“Napoli are studying to become a major player and I think the management of the group is also rewarding them.

“Sarri is democratic in his choices and hard enough to keep everyone in line, maybe even provoking the anger of some players to make them express themselves better.

“In this regard, I was struck by the angry reaction of Insigne at the time of his substitution in the match against Palermo.

“It was Incomprehensible in some ways, considering his form at the moment and the amount of praise and compliments he’s receiving.

“Sarri showed that he had the measure of the situation by giving convincing answers about the episode and personally I embrace his theories.

“I've also always preferred to have players who would be angry about a change rather than those who take it but don’t show any reaction.”
