Napoli are already planning for future investments to maintain their mesmerising form in both Serie A and Europe, with Atalanta’s Teun Koopemeiners said to be a potential target for the Partenopei.

The links come shortly after Piotr Zielinski was reported to be set to depart from Naples in the summer, as his contract expires in the summer of 2024.

In a recent interview, however, Zielinski admitted that he is keen to extend his stay at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, stating that there is still plenty of time to negotiate a renewal.

Regardless of whether the Polish international stays with Napoli beyond the end of the summer, the club have identified Koopmeiners as a potential target for the upcoming transfer window.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Napoli’s sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli already has an objective to reinforce his side’s midfield options.

Napoli were reported to be interested in signing the Dutch international several years ago before he decided to sign for Atalanta and their exciting project under Gian Piero Gasperini.

If they are not able to make a deal for Koopmeiners, then Napoli will turn their attention to Udinese’s Lazar Samardzic, who is also said to be a target for Giuntoli.
