Napoli winger Lorenzo Insigne has tested positive for COVID and will miss tomorrow’s match against Spezia.

The 30-year-old Italian, who has been dealing with a calf injury in recent weeks, tested positive for the virus after taking a PCR test this morning. He is now self-isolating at his home, meaning he’ll miss the team’s final game of 2021 against the Ligurian side tomorrow.

Napoli have announced that the rest of the squad have already taken a COVID test and the results are expected later this afternoon, with the club hoping that Insigne will be the only player forced to self-isolate.

The Partenopei are already in the midst of an injury crisis with stars Kalidou Koulibaly, Fabian Ruiz and Victor Osimhen all out with various injuries.

The 30-year-old Insigne, whose contract expires with Napoli next June, has made 18 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1311 minutes. In that time, he has scored five goals and provided six assists.
