Napoli are still on the hunt for the successor to Luciano Spalletti and have reportedly switched focus to Sergio Conceicao after moving away from Luis Enrique.

The 64-year-old Italian coach has already confirmed that he asked to leave the Scudetto winners in the summer, wanting to take a sabbatical year to spend more time with his family. Due to the fact that Spalletti is still contracted to Napoli until June 2024, he will not be free to switch clubs for next season.

Multiple media reports suggested that Napoli were keen to appoint former Spain and Barcelona coach Luis Enrique to replace Spalletti, but the Spaniard is seemingly keen on heading to England, with president Aurelio De Laurentiis recently admitting that “he has the Premier League in mind”.

As detailed by Gianluca Di Marzio and Sky Sports Italia, Conceicao has emerged as a serious target for Napoli now that they’ve moved away from Luis Enrique. Alternatives to the Portuguese coach include Fiorentina’s Vincenzo Italiano and Bologna’s Thiago Motta.
