According to reports in Italy, Napoli have officially requested to postpone tonight’s Serie A clash against Juventus and the lawyer of the Azzurri claims the team can’t travel to Turin or would commit “relevant criminal offences”.
Mattia Grassani, one of the lawyers of the Partenopei told La Gazzetta dello Sport: “There are several documents and communications of the Local Health Authority and the Regione Campania that ask our players not to leave their homes. We informed the Lega Serie A, FIGC and Juventus that the team is unable to leave for Turin or we would commit relevant criminal offences.”
According to several media in Italy, Napoli have officially requested to postpone tonight’s game through an email sent by the Azzurri President Aurelio De Laurentiis: “It appears evident that the team can’t leave for Turin,” the email reads.
“Flying to Turin would mean breaching a decision of the Local Health Authority and the risk of facing all the legal consequences. For these reasons we ask the Lega Nazionale Professionisti Serie A to postpone the game to another date for reasons that are beyond our control.”
Juventus made clear last night that they would head to the Allianz Stadium to play the game and this morning the team is going ahead with its matchday schedule.
