The Partenopei are flying high after their spectacular 2-0 win against Legia Warsaw, but the Rossoneri cannot afford a pessimistic outlook.

“Our team must not and cannot fail,” the Rossoneri captain told Il Corriere dello Sport. “We no longer have any excuses, we must pick ourselves up.

“This is our final exam. It'll certainly be a match in which both teams will have an open fight.

“We both have our strength in the attack, while the defence could have trouble. The most balanced team will win.”

With nine goals conceded in six matches in this season so far, Milan have anything but a stellar defensive record.

“That's one of our main weaknesses that have to be eliminated.

“After all, it's common wisdom that the Scudetto is won by the teams with the best defence, not those with the best attack.

“Our renovation mustn't stop at Napoli. So far, we've made too many mistakes even in those games we did win.

“My future? Not for a second did I consider leaving, [renewing] my contract is not a priority for me.”
