Now Calciomercato.it report that Napoli director of sport Cristiano Giuntoli has begun talks with Gremio for Everton Sousa Soares.

The 23-year-old is primarily a left-sided winger, but can also play on the right or as a support striker off a centre-forward.

He has a €60m release clause in his contract, but it’s suggested the asking price is €50m.

Napoli made an initial offer of €30m, but are prepared to negotiate up to around €40m.

There is another rather large problem with Everton and that is his ownership is fractured.

As is often the case in Brazil, Gremio only own 50 per cent of the player. Another 10 per cent belongs to Fortaleza, 10 per cent an investor and 30 per cent for his agent.

So far in 2019, Everton has scored seven goals in 18 competitive games for Gremio.

He made a good impression in the Copa America and has three goals in 12 senior caps for Brazil.

Much like James Rodriguez, Gremio has also been linked with Atletico Madrid.
