Victor Osimhen reveals he spoke with Arsene Wenger, who wanted him at Arsenal in 2017, while La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Napoli won’t sell the Nigeria international for less than €150m in the summer.

Osimhen is the current Serie A leading scorer with 21 goals in 23 league games. Overall, the 24-year-old has netted 25 goals in 29 matches across all competitions in 2022-23.

Napoli are determined to offer their star striker a new contract, although they are aware they will receive many offers at the end of the season, especially in the Premier League.

Manchester United and Chelsea have been linked with a move for the Napoli star, but according to Gazzetta, President Aurelio De Laurentiis, won’t sell his star for less than €150m, especially considering that Enzo Fernandez joined the Blues for €120m in January.

In his latest interview with CentreGoals, Osimhen revealed he close to moving to the Premier League before joining Wolfsburg in 2017.

“I spoke with Arsene Wenger, and he wanted me to come to Arsenal, but it was not the best option at the time,” he said.

Overall, Osimhen has scored 53 goals in 91 games with Napoli since his €75m move from Lille in 2020. His contract at the Stadio Maradona expires in June 2025.
