The French side recently appointed Frederic Massara as their new sporting director and were close to signing Marin Pongracic from Lecce but the Croatia international decided to join Fiorentina instead.

Ostigard was waiting for offers from Serie A clubs so he had put talks with Rennes on hold. However, according to Sky Sport, his entourage and Napoli have now reached a full agreement with the French club.

Ostigard hasn’t joined his Napoli teammates for the second part of the pre-season and will undergo medical examinations with Rennes in the coming hours.
