Napoli have sold just 12,000 tickets for Saturday’s Fiorentina match, after prices were doubled from last season.

The Partenopei face Stefano Pioli’s side on Saturday evening, but it appears the Stadio San Paolo will be largely deserted for the second home match of the season.

According to today’s Corriere dello Sport, just 12,000 tickets were sold in the pre-sale.

Some of the blame for that is being put on prices, particularly in the Curve, where prices have jumped from €12 to €35 for this season.

Traditionally those areas are the “popular sector” where the more ardent fans would sit.

In other areas the prices have doubled compared to last season’s Fiorentina match, though Napoli have introduced a promotion.

Any person buying a full-price ticket can get an unlimited number of under-14 tickets for €2.50 each, with the briefs valid for every area of the stadium.
