According to Sky Sport Italia, Napoli have an agreement with free agent Tomas Vaclik, but haven’t yet decided whether to sign the Czech Republic goalkeeper.

Gianluca Di Marzio claims the Partenopei have agreed personal terms with Vaclik, whose contract with Sevilla expires today.

The 32-year-old is currently playing for the Czech Republic at UEFA EURO 2020, starting all four games so far, keeping two clean sheets as they progressed to the quarter-finals.

However, while Napoli have ‘blocked’ Vaclik, it seems they have not yet decided whether to make the deal stick by signing the contracts.

David Ospina is for sale this summer, with Alex Meret handed the gloves, so Vaclik could end up going out on loan or acting as Meret’s understudy.

Meret has a history of injury issues and spent most of this season in rotation with Ospina, often dropped in favour of the Colombia international by coach Gennaro Gattuso.

Now Luciano Spalletti is in charge and it’s not clear yet what type of goalkeeper he is hoping for.
