La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has decided to sack Rudi Garcia, while Alfredo Pedullà claims the Partenopei have already opened talks with Igor Tudor.

Garcia is set to leave Napoli after losing 1-0 at home against Empoli on Sunday.

Partenopei fans booed the French coach after the game and according to Gazzetta, De Laurentiis has decided to sack him.

According to the report, Garcia won’t oversee Napoli’s training session on Wednesday while De Laurentiis is looking for his successor.

Several candidates have already been linked with the job, from former Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri to Fabio Cannavaro, an ex-Partenopei defender and Italy’s World Cup winner in 2006.

However, transfer pundit Alfredo Pedullà claims Tudor is the leading candidate to take over at the Stadio Maradona.

The former Croatian defender, an ex-coach of Udinese, Hellas Verona and Marseille, negotiated with Napoli over the summer and talks have resumed following Napoli’s loss to Empoli.

According to Pedullà, Tudor has taken time, so Napoli must wait a few more days to appoint Garcia’s successor.

Pedullà confirms Mazzarri and Cannavaro are among Napoli’s options, while Marcelino is destined to return to Villarreal.
