Napoli presented their new coach Rudi Garcia today, but Cristiano Giuntoli was nowhere to be seen, fuelling reports the director of sport will be released to join Juventus.

The transfer guru behind the acquisition of players like Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Kim Min-jae is under contract until June 2024.

However, he seems eager to try a new experience with Juventus, an interest that the Bianconeri have done very little to disguise.

President Aurelio De Laurentiis had until now refused to release Giuntoli, determined not to reinforce a direct rival.

According to CalcioNapoli24, that might be about to change, as the patron is now ready to reconsider his hardline position and let Giuntoli leave.

The breakdown in their rapport has become all too clear, especially as Giuntoli was not present at today’s press conference to present new coach Garcia.

All the other Napoli directors were present, including Maurizio Micheli and team manager Giuseppe Santoro.

With the transfer window opening and a new coach to deal with, it seems counter-productive to keep the situation dragging on.
