Napoli have agreed to a transfer fee with Udinese for Lazar Samardzic, but Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton have reportedly joined the race to sign the Bianconeri star.

It’s an endless transfer saga for the Partenopei who have been in talks with Udinese to sign Samardzic for several weeks.

Sky Sport Deutschland Florian Plettenberg reports the Partenopei have shaken hands with the Bianconeri over Samardzic’s transfer fee agreeing to a potential €20m transfer plus €5m add-ons.

However, the Partenopei have not yet been given the green light from the player’s camp and Premier League side Brighton have now joined the race to sign the Serbia international.

Sky Sport Italia confirms De Zerbi’s side are interested in securing Samardzic’s services and that Napoli do not have an agreement with the player’s agents.

Samardzic underwent his medical with Inter last summer but the deal collapsed after his father Mladen failed to reach an agreement with the Nerazzurri.

Samardzic has two goals and two assists in 17 Serie A appearances this term.
