Multiple outlets are reporting that Napoli reached an agreement with Premier League side Bournemouth for a loan deal involving midfielder Hamed Traore on Friday evening.
The 23-year-old is set to move to the Stadio Maradona on a loan deal until the end of the 2023-24 season, which reportedly also includes an option to buy clause that will become valid in June.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Napoli will have to pay Bournemouth €25m if they would like to sign Traore on a permanent basis. Interestingly, Napoli will only have to pay a loan fee to Bournemouth if they decide against signing Traore permanently.
Traore is expected to arrive in Naples early next week, but will not be in town in time to join his new teammates for their trip to Saudi Arabia for the Supercoppa Italiana.
The 23-year-old is already familiar with life in Serie A, having spent six years on Empoli’s books as a youth player, before making his senior debut in 2017.
From there, he joined Sassuolo, initially on loan, where he would stay until January 2023. At that point, Bournemouth came knocking, signing him up on an initial loan before signing off on a five-year contract in the summer.
Traore was diagnosed with Malaria this winter, but has since recovered and has been cleared to return to full training.
