Antonio Conte has specifically asked for David Neres and Napoli are pushing talks with Benfica to try and snap up the Brazilian winger.

The Partenopei have been unable to fully invest in their squad this summer as they wait to sell star striker Victor Osimhen, who is expected to bring in over €100m in revenue, which would allow the team to buy a new striker and multiple other targets.

Napoli have already signed Alessandro Buongiorno from Torino and Rafa Marin from Real Madrid, and also picked up Leonardo Spinazzola and Matija Popovic on free transfers. Their main target is Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku and talks with the Premier League side are ongoing.

Napoli push for David Neres

Gianluca Di Marzio details how Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna is keen to keep Conte happy and is pushing in negotiations with Benfica for David Neres, who has already opened up to the idea of a move.

The 27-year-old winger is contracted to the Portuguese club to June 2027 and has a €100m release clause, but indications suggest a deal could be reached for around €25-30m.
