Napoli president De Laurentiis furious with Koulibaly and his agent as Chelsea move imminent

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is ‘furious’ with Kalidou Koulibaly and his agent Fali Ramadani who rejected a contract extension with the Partenopei.

The Senegal international is set to join Chelsea on a €40m deal, including bonuses. According to multiple reports in Italy, the Blues and Napoli could finalise the agreement today.

Koulibaly’s contract at the Stadio Maradona runs out in June 2023 and the defender has rejected a €6m-a-year offer from his club.

Valter De Maggio, the editor-in-chief of Napoli’s official Radio Station Radio Kiss Kiss, claims that De Laurentiis is angry with the Senegal defender.

“De Laurentiis is literally furious with Koulibaly and his agent Fali Ramadani,” said De Maggio as quoted by Napoli Today.

“De Laurentiis held talks with Chelsea, while director Cristiano Giuntoli negotiated with Brighton over Ostigard.”

The former Genoa centre-back will replace Koulibaly at Napoli, but Lazio‘s Francesco Acerbi is also on the club’s agenda.

Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti refused to blame Koulibaly for his move to Chelsea. During a meeting with Napoli fans on Tuesday night, he said that he wishes him all the best even if the defender decides to leave.
