Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is ‘furious’ with Kalidou Koulibaly and his agent Fali Ramadani who rejected a contract extension with the Partenopei.

The Senegal international is set to join Chelsea on a €40m deal, including bonuses. According to multiple reports in Italy, the Blues and Napoli could finalise the agreement today.

Koulibaly’s contract at the Stadio Maradona runs out in June 2023 and the defender has rejected a €6m-a-year offer from his club.

Valter De Maggio, the editor-in-chief of Napoli’s official Radio Station Radio Kiss Kiss, claims that De Laurentiis is angry with the Senegal defender.

“De Laurentiis is literally furious with Koulibaly and his agent Fali Ramadani,” said De Maggio as quoted by Napoli Today.

“De Laurentiis held talks with Chelsea, while director Cristiano Giuntoli negotiated with Brighton over Ostigard.”

The former Genoa centre-back will replace Koulibaly at Napoli, but Lazio‘s Francesco Acerbi is also on the club’s agenda.

Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti refused to blame Koulibaly for his move to Chelsea. During a meeting with Napoli fans on Tuesday night, he said that he wishes him all the best even if the defender decides to leave.

  1. This man is always angry and bitter – KK done wonders for you lot and he rejected juve.

Acerbi as his replacement – thats a poor choice – too old – should have gone for lazio other defender luiz felipe=contract expired and on 24yrs old

  2. Do you have the right to be angry now after literally mistreating your other stars who’ve been loyal to the colour? KK is the last remaining leader who could captain and steady the ship, but with he’s gone, I am afraid that Osimhen is next and then Napoli would fall out of Europe contention altogether, opening up room for Lazio or Roma to contend for presumably the last available CL spot (with Milan, Inter and Juve).

  3. This guy should sell the club all the star players are leaving and he’s replacing them with players who are not even good okay you have taken this Club to a next level but your treatment of the managers and players shows you need to go

  4. Haha ffs why does he keep on behaving like this each transfer window. The guy served with heart and soul, now it’s time to move on!!!
