After initially rejecting the idea, Napoli are seemingly now open to loaning Adam Ounas to Olympique Marseille with an option to buy.

They had wanted to sell the Algeria international this summer, especially as his contract only runs to June 2022.

However, proposals from MLS and Serie B side Monza were turned down, with Ounas having his heart set on Marseille.

According to Sky Sport Italia and Footmercato, Napoli have now conceded their best bet is to extend his contract and send him out on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Torino had also tried to go for the 24-year-old, but after loan spells at Cagliari and Crotone, he wanted a bigger club where he could spread his wings.

Ounas contributed four goals and four assists in 15 Serie A matches for Crotone after joining them on loan in January 2021, but could not prevent their relegation to Serie B.
