Napoli will reportedly hand Gonzalo Higuain a new contract worth €6.5m per season.

The Argentinian striker was Serie A’s top-scorer last season, but has been linked with a move away this summer.

Partenopei President Aurelio De Laurentiis wants Pipita to “stay forever”, and has talked of an improved contract.

Now Corriere dello Sport reports that an offer is on the table to extend Higuain’s contract until 2020, a two-year extension.

In addition, it’s thought the Vesuviani are offering wages of €6.5m per season.
