Napoli are prepared to offer Manchester United a sum of €45m for Argentina talent Alejandro Garnacho according to Monday’s reports, but the Premier League side value the 20-year-old much higher according to the latest updates.

Reports over the weekend suggested that Garnacho is Antonio Conte’s preferred replacement for the outgoing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is expected to join Paris Saint-Germain during the January transfer window.

While David Neres has impressed for Napoli in Kvaratskhelia’s absence, the Partenopei are still hoping to strengthen their attacking unit when the Georgian leaves in order to keep their Serie A title fight alive.

Napoli prepare €45m offer for Man United’s Garnacho

According to reports from Alfredo Pedulla of SportItalia, Napoli have already offered a fee of €45m with bonuses included for the Manchester United star. Specifically, the offer is made up of €40m plus €5m in bonuses.

United, however, value their player in the region of €60m, which leaves room for the two clubs to negotiate.

Pedulla adds that there is a chance that United lower their asking price, but warns that Napoli have several other targets they can turn to if they are unable to strike a deal with the Premier League outfit.

Garnacho has not been a consistent starter since Ruben Amorim’s arrival at Old Trafford.

Though he started in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Riccardo Calafiori’s Arsenal in the FA Cup on Sunday, the youngster did not start in any of the team’s six previous matches in the Premier League and Europa League.

5 thought on “Napoli launch first offer for Garnacho but Man United want more”
  1. inspired signing, should it be pulled off. Conte clearly using his experience of the EPL to bring in players this season.

  2. Despite Rashford being MIA, Garnacho is still not a shoe in starter. At a team that is 13th in the league 😂

  3. @Rosario

But a star in Serie A last season, Zirkzee, has done less than a 20yo Garnacho. So it can work both ways. MU are a basket case too, so Conte could improve him.

  4. I really wouldn’t go as far as calling Zirkzee a ‘star’. His first season was abysmal and half a good season last year. But more importantly, he didn’t co5t bologna 45m plus.

  5. I said a star “last season”, which he was. Serie A Young Player of the Year, and Serie A Team of the Year. He cost 43m for MU too.
Retegui did little in his first season, but is top scorer now. Kean couldn’t hit a barn door either, but is scoring goals now. So it can change. Garnacho could do well under a real manager like Conte.
