Napoli are now only a step away from signing Getafe left back Mathias Olivera, securing their second summer signing.
The Partenopei are working to strengthen Luciano Spalletti’s squad in the summer in order to try and close the small gap between them and the two Milanese clubs. Napoli kept things brutally close in the title race this season but a few stumbles ultimately sealed their fate in third, a disappointing result in the end.
As reported by Radio Kiss Kiss, Napoli already identified Olivera as their ideal replacement for Faouzi Ghoulam and they’ve been working on securing his signature for a while now. They’ve recently made some important steps forward and now they’re on the verge of closing out the deal.
The 24-year-old Olivera, who has an estimated market value of around €15m, has made 29 La Liga appearances so far this season, for a total of 2537 minutes. In that time, he’s scored one goal, provided three assists and shown his defensive qualities.
