Napoli winger Hirving Lozano didn’t take part in this morning’s training session due to flu and could miss the trip to Scotland against Rangers.

The Partenopei are preparing for the second group stage game following a 4-1 win over Liverpool and Saturday’s 1-0 victory against Spezia at the Stadio Maradona.

They will face Rangers on Wednesday without the injured Victor Osimhen and fear Lozano will also be forced to the sidelines.

The Mexico international didn’t train this morning because he was ‘feeling unwell’ and it remains to be seen if he will recover for the upcoming Champions League fixture.

“After another successful result in the league at the weekend, there is no time to relax for the Azzurri as they prepare for their second Champions League match of the season,” Napoli said in an official statement.

“Luciano Spalletti’s men took to the training pitch on Monday morning, with their sights set on their trip to Glasgow, where they’ll face Rangers on Wednesday at 21:00 CEST.

“After a warm-up and rondos, the group completed tactical drills, training matches on a small pitch and set-piece practice.

“Diego Demme followed a personalised programme on the pitch, while Victor Osimhen underwent treatment. Hirving Lozano did not train as he was feeling unwell.”

The Partenopei share the Serie A top spot with Milan and Atalanta with 14 points. They will visit the Rossoneri at San Siro on Sunday in the last league game before the September break.

Lozano, 27, has delivered one assist in seven appearances across all competitions this season. He was introduced for the final 33 minutes of Napoli’s 1-0 win over Spezia on Saturday.
