Napoli are willing to make Gonzalo Higuain the best-paid player in Serie A in order to keep him, according to reports.

The striker’s agent has made it clear that his client doesn’t want to renew, leading to speculation that he could move on this summer.

However, Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli reports that President Aurelio De Laurentiis is willing to offer €7.5m per season in order to keep Pipita in Naples.

That would see him surpass Daniele De Rossi as Serie A’s highest-paid player, with the Roma man taking home €6.5m per season.

If the offer is rejected, however, it’s reported that Arsenal’s offer of €75m plus Olivier Giroud would be considered, subject to the Frenchman winning approval from Coach Maurizio Sarri.

The Gunners are thought to be ready to offer €8m per season, and the €75m could be used to pursue Mauro Icardi of Inter.
