Diego Lopez’s agent says that Napoli have not made a request for the goalkeeper and that he is intent on staying at Real Madrid.

Recent speculation was that in light of difficulties in being able to close out a permanent deal for Liverpool’s Pepe Reina, Rafa Benitez had asked the Partenopei to look at Los Blancos’ goalkeeper who has kept Iker Casillas predominantly out of League action for the past 18 months.

However, reports in Spain are that Lopez is not willing to leave the Santiago Bernabeu for anything other than a ‘big contract’ and his intention to stay in the Spanish capital has been reiterated by his agent.

“He wants to be the starter for Real Madrid and will work as hard as ever for it. He will put all his ability in to serve the club,” Manolo Garcia Quilon has commented.

“Napoli haven’t asked for him. He will again convince the Madrid coaching staff that he is a Real Madrid goalkeeper.”
