Napoli reportedly want to sell only one between Fabian Ruiz and Kalidou Koulibaly and the Spain midfielder seems the favourite to leave the Stadio Maradona.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Koulibaly could remain at Napoli for at least one more season.

The new Partenopei coach Luciano Spalletti wants the Senegal centre-back to stay at the club and Napoli haven’t received any offer for the 29-year-old yet.

Liverpool were interested in securing his services, but retired from the race after signing Ibrahima Konaté who is eight years younger than the Napoli star, while PSG don’t want to match Napoli’s €50m asking price.

The paper reports President De Laurentiis wants to sell just one between Koulibaly and Fabian Ruiz who could be the one leaving Napoli in the summer.

Koulibaly’s contract expires in June 2023 and Napoli may ask their defender to take a pay cut agreeing to get spread his €6m-a-year wages on a longer deal.

The Azzurri remain on the lookout for a centre-back as Nikola Maksimovic will leave as a free agent.

Feyenoord’s Marcos Sensi and Besiktas’ Francisco Montero are on the Partenopei’s radars.
