Napoli have confirmed captain Lorenzo Insigne has injured his left thigh and will be assessed daily ahead of this weekend’s match against Sassuolo.
The Partenopei picked up three vital points in the Europa League against Real Sociedad on Thursday, but Insigne left the pitch after 22 minutes of the 1-0 win in Spain.

Insigne, who had recently returned from injury, has a muscle injury in the left thigh and is uncertain for the match against the Neroverdi on Sunday.
“Lorenzo Insigne has undergone diagnostic tests that have shown a slight muscle contraction in his left thigh,” the club wrote.
“His situation will be evaluated day by day.”
