Napoli will reportedly meet Maurizio Sarri next month to discuss a new contract, as well as removing his release clause.

The Tuscan tactician has taken the Partenopei to the top of Serie A, and his current deal runs until 2020.

However, Sarri is comparatively poorly paid, earning €1.4m per season compared to €7m for Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri and €4m for Inter’s Luciano Spalletti.

In addition, there’s a clause in his contract which would allow him to move elsewhere for €8m this summer.

According to Il Mattino, the club will meet with their Coach next month to discuss a renewal, possibly over the international break.

Napoli will look to raise Sarri’s salary, as well as getting rid of the release clause.

It’s not thought there will be too many issues with the renewal, as Sarri is keen to continue working with sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli.

The newspaper believes that the two have a great relationship and huge mutual respect, so both men will be in Naples for the long haul.
